I am SO excited about today’s post. For a very long time I have had a stirring in my heart to share a series on helping kids memorize God’s Word in an ABC format. Several weeks ago I felt the Lord prompting me to finally put my idea into action.

I reached out to Ashley from The Littles and Me and we teamed up to bring you the greatest Advent printable and countdown adventure for you to do with your kids this Christmas!

I would like to present  >> My ABC Truth Tree!

This FREE Printable features 26 ornaments with a Bible verse that starts with each letter of the alphabet. You can print the download (link at bottom of post) and hang one ornament on your Christmas tree each day beginning November 30th and leading up to December 25th. We will countdown to Christmas together by memorizing God’s Word.

Why am I so passionate about MEMORIZING GOD’S WORD?

Ruth Chou Simons says it perfectly…

What we turn to to fill us up in this season will affect how we run our race, the way we respond to tension and devastation, and how we will lead —in our homes, communities, and callings.⁣ If we don’t intentionally seek to be truth-filled, we will be consumed with everything and anything else.⁣

When Paul says in Colossians 3:16 to “let the word of Christ dwell in you richly,” it’s not a sweet suggestion; it’s a battle-plan to preserve unity in Christ and to stand with humility and grace in a world of opposition. We can’t be passive about it.⁣

Think about what might happen among us if we were to be ruled by the peace of Christ and consumed by the truth of God’s Word…

God’s Word is a gift. I can think of no greater calling than to give this gift to my children.

It is my prayer that these next 26 days will equip your hearts and home with just what you need to run the race He has set before you and your family. Together, let us fix our eyes on Jesus – the very One who came at Christmas to replace our fear with peace, set us free from sin, and show us a better way. Jesus is the Word in flesh. When we celebrate the gift of His Word, we celebrate the gift of Christ.

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14

It gets even better!

One of the most powerful ways to memorize Scripture is to turn the verse into a song. With that in mind, I will be sharing daily videos on YouTube with a simple song for each Bible verse. I hope your kids love these videos! But, most important, I hope they fall in love with God’s Word as we memorize it together! The first video will be posted on Sunday night, November 29th, at 8:00 pm EST.
